Lucy was fantastic with my son who usually dreads having his haircut. She was so sensitive to his needs and took things at his pace. Can’t thank you enough. The cut looks fantastic too!

Best hair cut I’ve had in my life to be fair. Really lovely people, really lovely shop, generally really good experience. Defo a place I’d recommend, especially if you have curly hair 🙂

Thank you, Seanie, for the beautiful experience at Tame the Mane! I love my new haircut and hugely enjoyed the way you cut my hair, knowing exactly what curls need! Looking forward to coming back ?

Lara was great, very good explaining what I should/could be doing. Didn’t unnecessarily cut hair.
Soft curls when I left salon.
See you in 8 weeks?

I seem to be the odd one out as there are so many lovely reviews, and I absolutely hate having to do this, but I had such a bad experience that I felt I should share.
I booked a cut at Tame the Mane and, since I’ve been growing out my hair, all I wanted was a trim. Everybody was really lovely, especially the girl who cut my hair, so I can’t fault them on that aspect. At first, we talked about my expectations and we established how much would be cut, which we decided wouldn’t be much because there was no need. The stylist herself said that my hair was really healthy and felt well taken care of, which is one of the reasons why I’m so frustrated. SO much of my hair was cut off, the haircut is so choppy and it’s uneven (one side is longer than the other and the left fringe is significantly longer than the right). The stylist said that if I noticed any uneven bits I could contact them for a free fix, but honestly I don’t even feel comfortable going there for this. I made sure to wash my hair and style it my way as soon as I got home to see if it was as bad as I felt it was and yes, it was.
Also, I think it’s important to mention that I booked with a trainee. However, the salon posted that she is doing amazing with cuts and also that one of the experienced stylists would be there to supervise the appointment. This did not happen.
It was only after the appointment when I was about to pay that another girl came to see how my hair looked (I’m assuming one of the experienced stylists) and asked me if I liked it, to which I said I think too much was cut off. Then, she just let the trainee stylist there to speak to me and walked away (?) so why ask?
I came in with mid back length (when wet), pretty healthy hair and left with uneven, just under clavicle length (when wet) hair. Please listen to clients expectations, it’s very disappointing to know I’ll have to start the growth journey pretty much from where I started.

Without question the only place to go for curly hair. This is a totally different salon experience where employees have seen every curly hair dilemma and can get your hair performing like a natural mane.

I think my hair product spend is quartered having been given advice to use non-brand natural ingredients to maintain the locks; A thoroughly educational, inspiring and relaxing experience.
